MY BEST FRIEND's BIRTHDAY CAN??! Hell of course a whole entry itself shall pay tribute! :)

Ok very uneventful planning that had only me and Han Hui coming down. Birthday girl herself, I am glad to report was happily downing glasses of red wine and being her usual bubbly self.
Justin met me first at Simei sporting a similar monochrome palette as I. The pinstripe vest was a birthday gift from me, picked out by himself.

Id say....we look darn fine.

Trying to look fierce but runaway Ipod cable kills effect.

Since the night was still young, we decided filling stomachs were in order before some massive drinking. Here we are at the Hong Kong restaurant along the

Honestly service was pretty lousy. If I did not have to spend time waving like a mad woman trying to get staff's attention for the bill, or spend another few minutes repeating my orders, perhaps i could have enjoyed my meal.

I think this is Yuan Yang that the boy is drinking, a tea-and-coffee fusion drink.

Fried beef noodles.

Huge-ass french toast.

Sated and spirited, we found ourselves at Zouk's queue which was surprisingly brisk moving.
We caught sight with Sherry in no time and was surprised to see the usually homely Han Hui there to wish Sherry for her birthday. Now, hows that for true friendship?

Sherry and her crazy legion

Sherry and us :D

Like her sepia glow effect for the pictures

More friends~

Best friends since waaaaay back

She's all smiles as we give her a birthday kiss!

Eh not very focused...

Lo and behold, guess who I bumped into? LOL Gary and his entourage hahaha.
Whipped out said camera with lightning speed and proceeded with necessary cam-whoring, though it seems like i forgot to get one with the man himself...
From left:
Rumi (Gary's lovely cousin), moi, Zhen (did I mention she is an FHM contest finalist?)

Hotness!

SNAPPed while grooving on the dance floor
Why cant we EVER find a place nicer than the toilet???

Nothing better than just chilling with your bestie over Heineken.

Yes we can't ever forget outfit shots...

AA-inspired dress: Unikko Vintage, lace leggings: Cotton On,
heels: Mitju, Gold Clutch: Zouk Flea

End of part 1!

On a very coincidental note, I met up with Sherry for dinner...who didn't know that she was actually on her way to her very own belated birthday dinner! We met up with Han Hui, Candarina, Tessalyn and Janice at Sofra, a Turkish dinery tucked in ulu Shaw Towers, bugis area.
Her birthday cake

Sherry still deciding which is her best side...

SOMZ strikes a birthday winning pose

I swear that girl moves at the speed of light.
Just look how blurred my picture is WITH the movement capture function on!

Piling on all of her prezzies!

Good lord. The shower cap matches my dress!

Crazy buds since secondary sch days!

Han hui does not know what to make of me.

No food pics cos the food disappeared as soon as it arrived. Hey Im just a very punctual eater ok... But to make up for it, outfit pics!

Dress: Mascar , Boots & bag: Korean spree (Earlgreyparty.lj)
Hoop earrings: Bugis V.

Back view (love the V-back)

Big grin cos...
Now that we're done with Sherry's....mine's up next!

ohmigawd.

My fifth time with Flea Fly Flo Fun struck the motherlode, and I manage to hit the 3 digit mark finally! Thank you Connie, Menaka, Vishali (Mena's friend), Dominic (Connie's hubby) and my ever doting boyfren Justin for all the help, it was a great success and we sure as hell had fun.

I had 2 huge luggages, a picinic basket which housed my shoe collection for sale and the quintessential Ikea hanger rack. The weather was inhumanely humid but we manage to get one of the best spots and set up stall in record timing. The crowd trickled in the beginning, but later picked up momentum in the evening.

Business partners! From left: Vishali, Mena, Connie and moi

My collegue Jaslyn pops by for support! Yay~

Our neighbors, friendly fashion-savvy Indons :)

Blog shop owners #1 who were on our other side

Blogshop owners #2, love her grey vest

Here is Connie's husband, Dominic, the 'muscles for the day'!
Thanks dude!

Girlfriends DO add fun to things

While I'm glad for decluttering, I'm still mentally kicking myself for giving up my pair of C&K shoes for $19. Original price was $45, worn lightly only! Sigh....

Apologies to all for my neurotic-ness, I tend to fuss over the smallest details :P Throw in a faulty luggage and items on a disappearing act, its no wonder too haha. Thank you all for making the flea such a smashing success. Till the next!

Movie Review I : Star Trek

Ok this is served with a slight bias. Little known fact about me that I am a ardent lover of all things Science-fiction, and the mere mention of Star Wars & StarGate SG 1 drives me crazy.

Star Trek was initially a back up choice between what few movie timings that GV was offering. As usual, the film gods did not give us their blessings. *rolls eyes*

What is a action Sci-fi film without its standard topnotch special effects?
Just minutes into the show, it had me at the edge of my seat as I watched a tintillating space battle unfold, and embarassing felt floodgates give when Kirk's (the main character) father sacrifice himself to save his people from total annihilation.

Hello and hurray to modern remakes! Star Trek 2009 gets a makeover with a hot stellar cast, and throw in catchy scripts and funny punchlines, you have a winning formula for getting into the hearts of non-sci-fi nerds.

HOLY mother, modern Spock (1st from left) looks like good enough to eat.

BTW, issit just me or does the Starship Enterprise vessel look like a pizza cutter to you?
LOL.

Movie Review II: X-Men Origins, Wolverine

Hello, a peek into the life of the mysterious (and definitely the most drool-worthy) X-man?
Count me in on that piece of hotness. Heartthroooooooooooooooooob Hugh Jackman reprises his undeniable role as Wolverine, feral (sex-god) mutant with indestructable adamantiaum claws. The film traces back to when he was just a teenager unsure of his powers and how he came to be the rugged hero with a dark past.

We also had a chance to see his brother, Sabertooth, acted by talented Liev Schreiber. Seems like the hotness genes runs in the family. FYI, he's the hubby to Naomi Watts. Niceeee.

If you are a Marvel Comic fan, you may not like this as much. The pace of the movie was relatively slow, taking time to focus more on Logan's anguish and uncertainty on whether to stand on side of mutants or humans. Fight choreography was superb and hardcore, but again, it would have been nice if it was balanced out in the movie, and not little pockets of it here and there.

All I can say is..... I GOT TO SEE HUGH JACKMAN IN HIS BIRTHDAY SUIT!

I can now officially die in peace.

Fridays are meant for loving....

WHEN June is not being pissed off all the time by her loving yet annoying boyfriend. He had to leave early due to an army manning, and times like this sure tests the limits of your tolerance. I've been relatively passive these few days, but I reckon is more like the calm before the storm....

Random impromptu photoshoot for this budding model of my heart :)

That and my tee-dress from Korea makes its debut :P

Dress: Korean online spree, Necklace: Diva ($9!), Balenciaga bag: thrifted, Moccasins shoes: Bugis V
