ohmigawd.

My fifth time with Flea Fly Flo Fun struck the motherlode, and I manage to hit the 3 digit mark finally! Thank you Connie, Menaka, Vishali (Mena's friend), Dominic (Connie's hubby) and my ever doting boyfren Justin for all the help, it was a great success and we sure as hell had fun.

I had 2 huge luggages, a picinic basket which housed my shoe collection for sale and the quintessential Ikea hanger rack. The weather was inhumanely humid but we manage to get one of the best spots and set up stall in record timing. The crowd trickled in the beginning, but later picked up momentum in the evening.

Business partners! From left: Vishali, Mena, Connie and moi

My collegue Jaslyn pops by for support! Yay~

Our neighbors, friendly fashion-savvy Indons :)

Blog shop owners #1 who were on our other side

Blogshop owners #2, love her grey vest

Here is Connie's husband, Dominic, the 'muscles for the day'!
Thanks dude!

Girlfriends DO add fun to things

While I'm glad for decluttering, I'm still mentally kicking myself for giving up my pair of C&K shoes for $19. Original price was $45, worn lightly only! Sigh....

Apologies to all for my neurotic-ness, I tend to fuss over the smallest details :P Throw in a faulty luggage and items on a disappearing act, its no wonder too haha. Thank you all for making the flea such a smashing success. Till the next!

Movie Review I : Star Trek

Ok this is served with a slight bias. Little known fact about me that I am a ardent lover of all things Science-fiction, and the mere mention of Star Wars & StarGate SG 1 drives me crazy.

Star Trek was initially a back up choice between what few movie timings that GV was offering. As usual, the film gods did not give us their blessings. *rolls eyes*

What is a action Sci-fi film without its standard topnotch special effects?
Just minutes into the show, it had me at the edge of my seat as I watched a tintillating space battle unfold, and embarassing felt floodgates give when Kirk's (the main character) father sacrifice himself to save his people from total annihilation.

Hello and hurray to modern remakes! Star Trek 2009 gets a makeover with a hot stellar cast, and throw in catchy scripts and funny punchlines, you have a winning formula for getting into the hearts of non-sci-fi nerds.

HOLY mother, modern Spock (1st from left) looks like good enough to eat.

BTW, issit just me or does the Starship Enterprise vessel look like a pizza cutter to you?
LOL.

Movie Review II: X-Men Origins, Wolverine

Hello, a peek into the life of the mysterious (and definitely the most drool-worthy) X-man?
Count me in on that piece of hotness. Heartthroooooooooooooooooob Hugh Jackman reprises his undeniable role as Wolverine, feral (sex-god) mutant with indestructable adamantiaum claws. The film traces back to when he was just a teenager unsure of his powers and how he came to be the rugged hero with a dark past.

We also had a chance to see his brother, Sabertooth, acted by talented Liev Schreiber. Seems like the hotness genes runs in the family. FYI, he's the hubby to Naomi Watts. Niceeee.

If you are a Marvel Comic fan, you may not like this as much. The pace of the movie was relatively slow, taking time to focus more on Logan's anguish and uncertainty on whether to stand on side of mutants or humans. Fight choreography was superb and hardcore, but again, it would have been nice if it was balanced out in the movie, and not little pockets of it here and there.

All I can say is..... I GOT TO SEE HUGH JACKMAN IN HIS BIRTHDAY SUIT!

I can now officially die in peace.

~~~~~~
Fridays are meant for loving....
WHEN June is not being pissed off all the time by her loving yet annoying boyfriend. He had to leave early due to an army manning, and times like this sure tests the limits of your tolerance. I've been relatively passive these few days, but I reckon is more like the calm before the storm....
Random impromptu photoshoot for this budding model of my heart :)
That and my tee-dress from Korea makes its debut :P
Dress: Korean online spree, Necklace: Diva ($9!), Balenciaga bag: thrifted, Moccasins shoes: Bugis V
What have you been up to lately? ;)
Thanks to company perks , I managed to ballot for the free pass to Escape Theme Park, and on a humid saturday afternoon, met up with F4 aka 'Carl-Jiahan-Chonghui-Justin' combo.
HOWEVER sorry to say, Escape Theme Park was a total fluke.
The last time i was there was about 5 years, i think? And already most of the nice rides like Cadbury Inverter and indoor rollercoaster were perpetually in state of maintenance. And this time it was worst, my fave the Viking ship was 'closed for upgrading'....perhaps there are plans for changing it into a pirate warship Ala pirates of the Caribbean. *rolls eyes*
Anyways it was free so can't complain too much. Thank god for the guys, who made me laugh about almost everything there, plus points for meeting Carly after ages and spending quality time with the Boy.
Escape from boredom? hmm.
First up, the haunted house! So much for machoism, they pushed me in first!
Verdict? As expected, not very scary.
But some special effects made it cool like there was this feral guy having death spasms on the electric chair. Looked damn realistic! Pity no cameras where allowed in though...
Boys will be boys...
The first scary 'exhibit'.
Shooting hoops at the Carnival area
Justin lives out his piloting dreams...
And Carl begins to worry for his own safety.
To infinity and beyond!
What better way to cool off from the heat then to get wet! Acclaimed to be one of the tallest water rides in Asia, we went for the water slide ride- thingie. Long snaking queue nearly made me wanna drown myself in the H2O but we persevered till our turn.
Our boat making its way to....
Waterslide of terror!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh~
And down we come, soaking wet and all...
We survived!
I managed to coerce...I mean coax Jiahan into taking the water ride with us.
And then...
THATS THE WAY MY GOOD MAN!
It ends with the most gorgeous blue sky ever.
It was pretty last minute but halfway I was told that Adrian, the guys' secondary school friend was having his birthday chalet nearby at the SAF bungalow chalets. Since the rides were more or less a major buzz kill, it was a clear choice where we should be. Adrian has a huge family, and his cake had to be just as large to boot:
His cake was ginormous for crying out loud.
What do we have here?
PS: Adrian is the one in white, wearing specs.
Happiest 21st, Adrian!!
OF COURSE, how would a 21st birthday celebration be complete without some ahem, NOT-so-PG action??! Apparently, I eavesdropped with moi dainty ears that Adrian had a birthday wish, and that was to strip and spank my dear boyfriend's butt.
Which naturally, I had to accede to of course. *evil crackle*
Justin was tussled, carried, and whisked into a random room on the second room where Adrian's cousin (i think), had first dibs on the boy. Boyfriend took in good natured humour until things got a litttttle out of hand.
You know what they say: Teamwork makes for quick work!
I know...bad girlfriend right? But I was left in stitches just watching them do the naughty deed. ESPECIALLY there after, they decided to take turns stripping each other and went triggerhappy on the camera. Salute to Adrian's GF who actually brought in her trusty SLR camera with extra zoom and macro lens for high-res shots!
Now all thats left to wonder what thrills and spills will the dear boyfriend's party churn out...
Ok, so i did a little shopping...
They say it looks kinda grandma-ish, but i think it has a vinntage feel.
Too small so I gave it to my sis.
Cute and buttery soft gladiator heels
Has a Victorian vibe about it that I love
Everybody needs a ballerina skirt!
No one can resist a lace concoction
I also got the wickedest blazer from BYSI for a steal of 29 bucks, but lazy to upload the pics at the moment...
Then I saw what Louise from Pandorapandora mixed up in her latest entry, and squealed.
Part etheral, part chic, and fully perfect.
All I need now is to be that pretty and be born in Paris.
The best of course, always saved for last...
Presenting, with bated breath.... My BALMAIN-INSPIRED HEELS.
Ever encountered love at first sight?
It was 'gawk screen-severe heart palpitations-pass out-wake up-immediate order & $$ transfer'. I dare you to tell me this is not sexy perfection. After a agonising 2 week wait, the pair was delivered to me, and i could not stop stroking every part of it gingerly.
God, i feel like a total pervert.
Standing at a grand height of almost 5 inches, it is the current king of my shoe closet.
Striking fear into the hearts of its peers with its gleaming studs and solid platform.
Im hugging them to sleep tonight.
Movies: 2 strike outs!!!
Knowing
Apparently in this case, NOT knowing is bliss.
Went with Gary and gang to watch this sometime back at Cineleisure, and it was bad in more ways than one.
In a nutshell, aliens tried to save humans from their own self-destruction so they gave them a 'cheat code' to escape impending disasters. But would you have it, 'secret code' was put in time capsule for 50 years (so sway man!) and just till last 3 disasters before Armageddon, we start getting visitors from outer space.
I also did not get the weak biblical undertones, what with alien salvation (goodness. E.T has wings that resembled angels mind you. WEIRD), the kids who can hear otherworldly messages as modern day prophets or that it is all part of the bigger plan.
Ok. I never knew aliens had a thing for peroxide overdose, flaccid skin, and all black assembles. Totally reminded me of Spike from Buffy the Vampire slayer. Deja Vu much?
Aliens from 'Knowing'.
They have stalking tendencies apparently...
Vampire Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer
And well, the last part of which they revealed their space ships, it was massive-humungous and prolly big enough to safe most of human population.
But noooooooooo. You had to be the 'chosen ones' to get beamed up apparently.
No extra points for Nicholas Cage portrayed as a depressed and cynical professor throughout the show; and much worst when actress Rose Byrne (whos like my age), acting as a mom and given the wardrobe of some unflattering surban taitai's wardrobe.
The Unborn
Honestly, the only thing that should not have been borne is this movie.
Perhaps the only saving grace was hot Transformers star Megan Fox, which the camera spares no film to show her in every bootilicious angle.(refer to movie poster for example. Bet you were concentrating more than just the apparition in the mirror ;)
For one thing, the movie was only about an hour and half long, and the ending which led to almost everyone's death except our heroine was painfully anti-climatic.
The Unborn is connected to Judaism, Jewish folklore, the Kabbalah, instead of the usual run-of-mill Catholic/Buddhist ghosts, which added an interesting factor.
Jibes aside, brownie points are given to the amazing special effects which did earn from me a jerk or two. Especially loved the part where a stroke-ridden patient, whom being possessed by the evil demon, overnight gained super yoga-flexibility and the ability contort-walk on all fours to chase after its victim.
And yes, Justin was with me. And yes, kena traumatised by me again :P
