What is beauty?

Is it a pretty face, or luscious body or even a the amount of skin you reveal?

Whether peer of my generation still identify with this truth remains unclear as hordes of girls still swarm the streets of Orchard and clubs, with wayang-worthy amounts of makeup and outfits that provide just a shred more of fabric than my table cloth.

Beauty is not something that you put on like a layer of makeup or a party dress; it's the unpolished soul beneath.

The sexiest woman in the world is the one just waking up: messy hair, tired eyes, raspy voice. The waking woman is sexy because she is undiluted.
Its also sexy, I feel, when a woman is unafraid to let her personality and wit shine make the impression, instead of selling her sexiness in skimpy clothes and a even skankier personality.

Remember, looks are probably skin deep, but a person who can evoke you to think and laugh goes way beyond that. Inner beauty is so underrated these days.
But you can make it happen, and be that beautiful soul today, and check out: http://changingthepresent.org/

I stumbled into this site but I think its amazing and warming that charity knows no boundaries.

Instead of splurging on that latest IT bag that will prolly go out of season in a month, or the makeup set that you already have oodles of; donate that meaningful money to people around the world who need it more than you. It can also be a unique birthday gift idea, you can also donate on behalf of a friend and help accumulate the good karma.

You can change the present :)

ARGH.ok....i think i may have gone overboard abit lately.
My plastic looks bruised. *touches debit card gingerly*

But it was a good buy, honest! (ok curb your laughter, i know you heard it times over from me)

20th Dec 2008

First was the 2Good to be True! Flea Market @ Sculpture Square Middle Rd, which was targeted a portion of proceeds to go towards helping the less fortunate children of MILK(www.milk.org.sg).

Very relaxed and laidback, unlike other aggressive fleas I've been before.
Have to say it could have been better as some sellers simply marked their prices too high.
Darling, if you wanna desperately clear yr stuff and profit, it better to
No body wants to buy a new Mango top for just 2 bucks off the original price.

Hello, its a FLEA market.

Also had the pleasure of meeting the lovely ladies behind tauntingtulips.livejournal.com and sherniece.livejournal.com; the latter whom I bought this Topshop-inspired black dress i've been eyeing for a while. Got a chiffon babydoll dress from dollswardrobe.lj, coincidentally the sellers where Justin's neighbours! LUCKY!

27th Dec 2008

Then was a TWO hour spree with Justin and my sis at Cotton On, Tampines Mall. At 50% off, who in their right mind can resist? Whoever knew those two had it in them! Kudos to you guys, hahah and welcome to my retail world.

I rang up a total bill of $60 plus after much elbowing,on-the-spot-changing and queueing for the longest time. Take it from me, it was madness. But for the sake of gorgeous-ity, it was worth it.

3rd Jan 2009

Today was the best, i scored bigtime. The fashion gods smiled upon me. Went to the CozyCot Blogshop Weekend bazaar without much expectations, since it said vendors were mainly blogshops.

Mark your calendars!
One more coming up in 17th Jan!!

The reception.
Got a door gift AND a free gift for any purchases made :)

I have been looking for this black skirt with gold studs for EONS, and i found it today..for get this, SEVEN freaking dollars! *screams in joy* Also adding to the family, a vintage white tulle skirt with black roses and a blue prints babydoll top, 2 buckeroos each! oh joy!

Random buys: a white mini kimono from a pasar-malam and this sweetest crochet throw-over from a closing sale in Eastpoint.

Yet somehow, im defiant in the face of my guilt.
Sometimes, if its your hearts calling, just go for it and try your best to ignore the nagging feeling of your rapidly lightening wallet ;)

Stay economical ya'all!

PS: IM STILL METALLY KICKING MYSELF FOR NOT GETTING THIS FAUX BROWN MIU MIU COFFER BAG WHICH WAS GOING FOR $10. WTF was i thinking??!!!! Let Miss 'Anna Wintour' pass her judgement on me...

They always said to go out with a bang.

And we sure did!

Firstly, joined Mena at PINC nail parlour, where she had the chic-est designed fake nails done and I had an express manicure, with cuticle treatment....which somehow absurdly led to us buying a $250 value package. Ok...im totally wiped out and its NOT EVEN half the day yet!

I brought them to Tomato Express; set meals are affordable and mouth-watering. But I can't say the same about the lousy service, where the staff were busy chatting and I had to like wave and glare to get their attention. Another even told us the wrong price!

Well, i guess they ain't getting my vote for employee of the month, thats for sure.

Remember back in the days, when Neoprints where like the craze?
HEHE. i reckon we went a little wild on these ones...

LOL. check out justin's face in the last pic!

Mena left earlier to join her family for another round of celebration, so the remaining us went to MINDS Cafe @ Selegie Road for a few insane rounds of Taboo (deluxe edition) and Jenga.

My stomach hurts from laughing so much. Best answer from our Taboo play:
LMAO

May: what is a famous city in France? rhymes with pain!!
Germaine: Erm..... i know! ITALY!!!!

In the last few minutes of 2008, here is wishing all the best for 2009!

i have way too much pictures and folders containing pictures that its only a matter of time this cheap piece of scrap metal that I call my lap top crashes and burn. But before that happens, I present you the latest orgy of photos. that, and i'm surprisingly inspired to blog more these days :)

28th-Nov-08: Third Year Anniversary!

Wow. cue dropped jaw.
Its been three years already? Who'd ever knew we'd last that long, honey?

It was an understated and simple affair, and the boy certainly did outdo himself this time. We decided to have a weekend getaway at The Amara, followed by a whopping 7 course meal at Dozo: Fine Modern Japanesque Restaurant, for a fine dining experience that was all too new to me.

On our way to Amara
Bliss is being with you dear.

The Amara reception just oozes class

Ushering the Christmas mood already

Cabbing again to Dozo restaurant. Hungry? ;)

Japanese noodle sticks

The boy was taking a pic of me when the waiter popped in.
I think my face matched my dress...

But he was nice enough to help us take instead :)

Just look at the number of dishes on the menu!
i reckon we took about a good 20 minutes just deciding what to eat!

Compliments from Dozo: Mango Sorbet. Yum with a capital Y!

first course, the appetizer. It consisted of a blanched scallop, smoked salmon and foie gras. Believe it or not, it was my first time having foie gras. The outcome?

Erm, lets just say, i

Well, at least HE enjoyed it :)

Next was the cold dish. The boy had this raw beef-pastry concoction.
Strange as it sounds, it as Delish!

I adored the crab salad, it was fresh, light and oh so succinct!

Joy spreading all over my face :D

Feast your eyes enough yet? We aren't even half way through!
3rd course is the side dish; I had the soft-shell crab with vinegar whereas the boy, a unique fusion of Chawamushi and foie gras.

He sure knew how to choose his dishes alrite...2 foie gras in 1 sitting!

Soup of the day: A mushroom thick broth for him;

And a crab brisque for me! and yea i know... its a seafood theme for me that night.

At long last, the main dish.
Sake drenched unagi, sizzling slowly on piping hot stone..

And he had beef steak, layered with a single fan of fried Enoki mushrooms.

Salivating yet?

Sated, we turned to our drink and desserts.
Fruit tea adds a tang to the rich meal we just had,

There will ALWAYS be room for green tea ice-cream (with 2 sesame balls)

apparently, Justin agrees with me ;)
Vanilla ice-cream accompanied with a small choc cake

As if that WASN'T enough for us...we got a slice of cheesecake on the house as they delayed our bill due to a small mis-comm. How sweet is that?

Overall, it was a dream.
Food was to die for, and the service was simply impeccable. I wished we could have gotten a private room to complete the whole mood, but this was near perfection.

Thank you baby, for an unforgettable 3 yr anniversary.
I love you as much as I did 3 years ago, and I know things will only get better from here on.
