Its amazing how i manage to handle TWO flea markets while juggling my full-time job. I guess being broke really drives you to do things beyond your limits :) lol
Before I went for the Home flea, i tested the waters at the nearby Pasir Ris community centre. It was really a last min attempt as my dad signed me up behind my back!
At the crack of dawn (nah more like 10am), My dad, sis and I trooped down to our allocated slot at the PRCC. For a mere 10 bucks of a day's rental, we got a spacious tent, a table and two chairs. Wasting no time, we got to work...
My-really-no-frills stall
Everything must go!
Child labour? >_<
"lelong lelong!" Thanks for your help dad!
Handphone pouches, earrings...
My stash of impulse shopping goes on display
After a hard day's work....time to tuck in
Finger licking good nasi lemak...yum!
here is the stall on my left. A genial lady who attended to every customer with big smiles and patience even tho some were losers. there was this auntie who bargained like hell over a damn tupperware.
Geesh, talk about lack of social grace.
this was the stall on my left.I reckon she was the most aggressive seller amongst us 10 stalls, and i was initially pissed off cos she used up my space before I arrived. I guess she tot since I was late that I was not coming and so she can go ahead dominate more than her money's worth.
Guess what she was peddling?
lol Grandma undies @ 2 bucks each. LOL!
I loved this store the most. The vendor was a fashionista in her own league...vintage bags and apparel galore. and all were going at rock bottom prices cos she was trying to clear all before moving to her new place.
I really regretted I did not get her number for future buys...but i did score a sweet charcoal grey necklace a la Balenciaga and a black lace clutch for 7 bucks. <3>
Cute family of four who sold handmade badges with bendable appendages. The little girl was so adorable when she came up to me to show them off. lol :)
Close up
Half way through, there was a light shower. Then I realised why the hell was rental so cheap...cos the tents were kinda dripping on the sides! The nice auntie in the left actually used her tupperwares which was meant to sell to contain the rain. LOL
Overall, i manage to sell abit of stuff and while i did not profit much, it was fun and an innovative way to spend time with family on a lazy sunday morning. Thanks daddy for supporting my entrepenuer dreams and May for helping out at the stall. love!
~~~
whee! OK lest Janice kills me in my sleep or something, the grossly overdued Home club flea pics:
Our journey to Home club was not a smooth one. Lugging two heavy luggages and dashing through half-hearted rain certainly did pull our spirits down.
We even kinda got abit lost when locating our stall, and since we were late, we manage to get a pretty o-k slot.
Treasure trove for the hard pressed budget fashionistas...
Casual tees and tops for every occasion...
Jan is so capable man!
She made this earring stand herself!!
All must go! Everything at $1o!!
'Bottoms up!' Jean capris, coloured jeans...you name it I have it!
Here is to the start of a 'beautiful' (no pun intended) partnership!
Jan's friend (can't recall his name) drops by for a visit
Our neighbours at work
All smiles despite the hard work!Mom's the boss of the business (lady in white shirt), as I found out. It was her passion to run her own business on top of her own full time job.It was a fun affair, seeing how her kids, husband AND friends came down to support! :)
Yes...this is the stuff dreams are made off. Look at all the stash!
Special thanks to my sis, May... whom admidst her hectic schedule came down to help out.
Jan's trying out a new tactic. She will try to catch the eye of the guy of any couple who walks by...and when the girl friend turns angrily to face the rival...she will be distracted by our wonderful stuff and we shall have sooooooaring sales!
hahahah good strategy.
DAMN u shaky camera.
Love u baby. Thanks for also rushing from your flight just to help out, kisses!
Pointing to the direction of the bestest things! ;)
This was a natural overexposure which i saturated the effect and it turned out pretty cool..
With out the effects :)
Bored and going bonkers trying to fend off blood thirsty bargain hunters!
Poor girl...she's too stressed with the day's sales as well...
At least she not trying to turn it into a suicide tool like mine! >_<
nnnoooooooooooo~~~~~!!! Don't tear me away from my stash! all minnneeee~~~
Taaadaah!! *winks pretty lashes*
Shall kill you with my cuteness if you don't buy from me!
At around 9pm...most of the sellers were packing up and we took that as a cue for our exit as well. I'm pretty happy that I managed to get rid of a few dresses and acessories that I've had forever but never got around wearing them.
I can't really decribe it...but there is just something fun and satisfying when you really try to sell your wares to a customer, and the small joy when they buy it. Getting cash in real time is just somehow different than getting your pay credited into your bank acct directly.
Tired...but we were too pumped up to simply head home. We met up with the gang (Carl, Jia Han, Stuart, Germaine, Yong Kang, Chong Hui) for a movie, Meet Dave.
OMFG. How the hell are we gonna get the dead weight luggages up!!!!!!!!!!
MAY jus lovess Wall. E.
Then again....so do i. =P
Feels good to be back! ;)
Having been blowing off a heart-wrenching amt of $$$ on online sprees and bugis street bargain-hunting lately, so Im gonna change my shopping addiction into a rabid blogging fixation instead. COLD TURKEY for this girl, i say.
That having said, I have been good. ^^
Lets start from my oldest happenings yea?
Almost a month ago, Sherry and I bought a bikini each on a whim. Bella Kini is the greatest swimwear shoppe ever; not only do they offer a head-swirling variety of bikinis, they are affordable too! within the 30-odd range . I spied on a South-hamptons inspired halter bikini and picked for Sherry this one that I felt was soo her: a red/ black/gold string bikini that just brings to mind the eternal partying of Ibiza. ;P
So we put them to use at Cafe del Mar..
Showing off her new m)phosis hat..
And the lucrid looking statue at CDM's entrance..
Beach-beds and hammocks scattered about for your u lazy beach bunnies.
Was kinda pissed cos the staff told us we had to spend about 100 bucks on drinks to lounge there. I was like 'WTF? seriously dude...'
Spotted: bunch of lanky dudes trying to bury their friend in the sand. LOL And the STUPID woman who just would NOT get her cellulite infested, shagging butt out of the pic no matter how many times i 'tsk-ed' her.
Well, i hope you're happy, you shaggy ass loser. >(
Trying hard not to sleep...but the sun was so nice and pleasantly warm!
Sherry looking all Hollywood star like (^^,)
When i was taking this picture, outta no where a whole barrage of Bangladeshi workers swarmed in to the scene. It was both frustrating and very unnerving as they kept looking at the beach goers, hungry eyes ran amok. I tried glaring at them but it was only a temporary measure.
Then all of a sudden, this bold ASS right, decided to stand next to where sherry was basking, and yelled at his friend to take a picture! It was very obvious that he wanted to get Sherry into picture, but the dear would have none of it of course.
Hello, this is SOMZ we're talking about ok. LOL, so she suddenly just forcefully jolted up and started to move out of frame, all while staring her eyeballs off at him. The ass, caught off guard, jumped a good few inches in the air and decided he better not push it and left. Woo hoo!
Life's just better when you have friends like these :)
Watcha looking at?
Camwhoring in the Ladies. As usual.
Sherry get your nose outta the phone and pose!
Kindly ignore grimy mirror and focus on gorgeous subject. :P jokin la!
Exhausted but happy ^^
Behold! Sherry and her amazing disappearing hand!
;)
Yay me. ~~~
Next post, Home club flea market and a crazy indian birthdaY!
Life is never boring, especially when you have me around ;)
Yesterday was fun albeit tiring, trawled about Far East Plaza with the boy and it was just excruciating to see my card being maxed out, but that warm fuzzy feeling of your destined finds into your eager embrace just overcomes the guilt. I am DEFINITELY a shoppaholic through and through, and the boy threatens to throw me into rehab (Shoppaholics Anonymous, anybody?)
I cant resist showing off the fetish, so here it is :P
SHOES ARE LURRVEE!
What is the best way to curb your shopping addictions during this retail season???
By playing the opposite role as the seller of course! On a surge of goodwill and determination to salvage my fast depleting finances, I signed up to be a seller at the SMU Flea Market, happening on 26 July.
Please do support me! Do also check out my blogshop for my preloved items, others are brand new from holiday trips that have not even been worn before! Totally brand new!
www.shes-addicted.blogspot.com ~~~ A belated entry from last Sat. Treated him to a meal at pizza hut and the movie 'Wanted'. I am pretty sure he was happy with the change of him usually treating.
Even the boy needs a lil TLC every now and then...
Blurred. oops...
There we go!
They were cutting a tree to make the bill..hence the sian look.
Honestly had no idea what he trying to do
Big smiles for the 'shady' pair!
Hello folks!
on the account of being nagged by my dear SOMZ, amongst others, here i am updating :)
So how much damage have you done since the GSS started? It has always been an important period on my social calendar. That and not to mention the late onslaught of online sprees that I have been joining up.
So far up to date:
- 1 Blue & 1 Black cropped cardigan: $29.90 (Cotton Candy, Far East) - Blue pleated skirt: $29 (Ness) - Black PVC leather C&K bag: $19.90 (John Little sale) - White Vincci covered heels: $23.90 (John Little sale) - Make-up combo: Couleur peach blush + Bojouris liquid liner + L'oreal mascara + Fasio lipgloss = $46 odd (John little, gotta LOooovee it!) - Black and white polka dot dress : $26 (haggled like mad for this, Bugis Village)
Total satisfaction after achieving my sartorial dream: PRICELESS. :P
Until that nagging feeling of guilt starts to sink in, and you start to feel scared about your next credit/debit bill. HAIZ. ~~~~
BTW, i saw my dream Victorian-black-lacy-top on a random online spree. Should I get it or not? Pls vote asap!
