On a fine wednesday, my German director Lars decided to give both my manager and me a treat: authenthic German cruisine!
Boy was I excited as we took the long cab ride from the office to this quaint German restaurant (its name I can't recall at the moment), tucked at the corner of Millenia Walk.

This was a HUGEASS beacon that originated from the floor that we were dining, and trailed all the way to the sun roof.
The raising of the Maibaum (which refers to that huge striped pole) does not involve using a crane or any mechanical device but rather the strength of a team of men, this is in keeping with Bavarian German Culture.

A distinctly European furnishing of the dining area, with a snap of our waiter.

Me, of course, camwhoring in the Ladies during that one free moment. :P

The sunroof . Natural light was all that was needed to illuminate the area, cool eh?

This was just a small portion of the German wine making machine. The larger part of it was actually a floor below us. You could almost smell the faint aroma warf pass as you enter...

YES, it was that BIG all rite!!

I wished I could have snapped my dish as well, but I didn't think it would be thaaaat appropriate for a new staff to whip out her camera while her Director and Manager were happily tucking in. LOL. I had saur crepe, which was something like shredded turnips, topped with yummy beef sausages (which frankly was a lil disappointing cos it was kinda small. I kinda expected huge bratswurst-sized ones).

Hows that for a gastronomical treat?

~~~
In the same week, it was my closest buddy/collegue Jing's last day. It was bittersweet, but its good to know that she'll be studying hard and playing hard for better things to come. It was kinda hard to make her go as mad as me, but with alil nudging and coaxing, she was certainly having a good time as my partner-in-crime...
Below, the temporary insanity we unleashed on tht fateful friday :P
This is a water mist feature that looks like a semi deflated rubble of a volcano. I was told it was something to dowith the fengshui. LOL
I proclaim thee, Queen of the erm...thing!
Thirsty, Jing?
Tsk tsk. lazying on the job already?
Babe, it was great knowing you. Thanks for making my days more fun and taking away that bit of monotonity. Keep in touch love!
If you have known the irreplaceable Miss Sherry Ong as much as I do, you'd understand why this was a No-Miss (she'd prolly kill me) event on my social calendar. After 3 years of mugging and4 intensive months of obsessive-compulsive panicking...the big day had finally arrived.
I give you, the TP DESIGN SCHOOL DIPLOMA SHOW, featuring first and foremost of course, my bestest friend and her really funky and unforgettable fruits of labor.
Just like the creator herself, loud bold solid colors are the signature elements in Sherry's works...
PS: I like the one with the faery and the rainbow...hey babe can i have tht?
Her main assignment was a rebranding of our S.A.M, or better know as the Singapore Arts Museum.
It wasn't just posters and cards, the list was extensive; including book marks, phamplets and badges...etc.
Zee artist, Miss Sherry the Blueberry Ong, looking a lil tired but happy.
This panel belongs to Carmen, a good fren of ours. It carries a lighter whimsical touch. Hers was centralized on ballet and japanese masks, i think.
I nicked a bookmark. It was cute...
Miss Carmen and Sherry
What is with the monochrome dressing girls?!
This was by Sherry's good fren, Sarah, I think. I adored her work the best.
Grungy, delibrate ruggedness, coupled with a childlike touch. I loved that she made rainbows and torn pages go so well together, the contrast was blatant but gorgeous.
J'ADORED the bloody stationary!
A mixed-media piece. Its almost warhol-ish in its own way.
Dying to take one home, haha, but ah well....
A faux movie poster created by one of the Diploma students, almost just as good as pro eh?
Ok im getting lazy, will continue with the photo-orgy tomolo. luv ya bye./
You know when your love is near dead...
...when every sad love song seems to sing about you
...when all your sweetest memories becomes fuzzy and starts to fade
...when you heart goes from bleeding to becoming dull numbness
...when you think of him and you feel nothing but a sharp feeling of resentment
...............when that deep love turns into a deep hate........
That's when you know your love, is almost dead.
hello and hi.
On the crusp of my ending weekend, I'm rushing to upload and coherently write about that gap of my life that I had last blogged about. :)
A week before I was part of the working tribe, Sherry and I hit whats possibly one of our favourite places ever; Haji Lane. She needed a bag among other things, while I just needed abit of window-retail therapy. Had a over-paid meal at the once economical Mosi Cafe and walked the stretch.
Here we are at Soon Lee, my fave boutique. Their stuff are preppy yet effortless chic, and they get their inspiration from almost everywhere. The ambience is cosy and faux vintagey, and the clothes are to die-for, prices still in the ok-I-can-splurge-on-this range.
"Ni Hao, Sherry the Demented Nun speaking.."
Working the Cowboy Barabie look, LOL.
Couldn't afford drums, so....
Janjan was a dearie, popping a sudden visit during my lunch break. Exhilarated, I treated her to the best Ban-Mian around the vicinity, and topped it off with bubble tea from my company's own cafe.
Picturesque view of my office building, gorgrous no?
Interior shot
Miss jan enjoying the view...
Thanks Jan, you made that Friday pass faster....
Cheers to our friendship!
I do believe that miss june is getting more dull andd mundane by the passing second.
Usually weekends would see me out frolicking with the girls (or guys as of late) so I wonder if the new change of relationship status had brought about that. I won't be embarassed to say that I'm not affected at all by that.
Haiz... im being bleeding' emo YET AGAIN.
Everyone's hot topics are still on the article that Dawn Yang wrote about the Edison Chen sex scandal.
So here's where I chip my two cents in about it; honestly, i dunno what that girl is trying to rally about. She starts off about how Edison (or as she so affectionately refers to as Eddie) hot/attractive (insert sexy embellishments) and recounts her close ecounter with him.
As you read on, you envision her shaking her pretty locks and squinting her lovely doe eyes in apparent disapproval. Then suddenly, rather abruptly, she pivots and made it that its not really his fault because he's hot and can land any chick he desires. We know it takes two hands to clap, but honestly babe, don't try to play neutral party.
What exactly is yr point of writing a piece that is contradicting from the very first word? -_-
Ok dawn-fanatics, don't start flaming me for my opinion. Just practising my right of speech.
Go sob in a dark corner if you feel hurt aite?
Random stuff...
I'm bloody disappointed about the new makeover of FEMALE magazine. It was my personal fashion bible, and religiously collected most of the issues. Unlike uber niched magazines with the likes of Vogue and Elle (too high fashion and fairy-tale prices), it was a pragmatic choice and could ease in the local context. few highlights that i liked:
-formal wear: like how to stretch officewear and be versatile in choices. great for newly working adults
-health: eating healthy but not compromising on the delectable and appetite-whetting palate.who ever knew fast food could be healthy too?
-new shopping spots: providing alternatives to the usual retailers and stores.
Unfortch, while the new preppy-sorta-quirky-mod coverlook is nicer, advertisements to editorials ratio are about 1 in every 2 pages. there is significantly lesser content value and the team could have done better than just upping the aesthetic of the mag.
I had wanted to intern for FEMALE sometime in the near future but i guess that is kaput for now. LOL ah well.
Am looking to watch the following movies. Will accept any form of donation, whether ticket or DVD rental:
-PS I love you
-Spiderwick chronicles
-Priceless
-The other Boelyn Girl
-Trade
-Quinceanera
A tryst of betrayal and deceit.
Soft brown that I once trusted with my all have now become foreign and unfamiliar.
Behind the angelic facade lies a malicious stranger.
Dagger in vice-grip and harrowing strike through my heart.
Two years of bittersweet memories,now beginning to fade and disappear,
Tell me why you're looking so confused, when I'm the one who didn't know the truth.
Which of your promises were ever true? I know now, through the words of others.
My heart is breaking, with every single word that i say now
I still think of how you promised me forever,
But its too late and I want you gone from my life from here on.
What doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger.
I will be reborn and re-emerge from the coccon of hurt and pain
metamorphising as a better and happier human.
Breath-takingly beautiful in mind, body and heart.
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
Never again will my heart open for you, never again shall it bleed.
I gave up everything I had; on something that just could not last.
And, I refuse to cry. for no longer, shall tears will fall from these eyes.
Good bye and thank you for the memories.
Love, june
The perfect heartbreak song.
Happily Never After by Nicole Sherzinger
"I don't think I want this anymore,"As she drops the ring to the floor.
She says to herself, "You've left before,"
"This time you will stay gone, that's for sure." (yeah)And he shattered something else.
To drag her suitcase down the path,To the driveway.
She had never gone that far....
Normally this would be the time that she would let him talk her out of leaving,
But this time, without crying,as she got into her car, she said,
"No'Happily Never After...
That just ain't for me.
Because finally,I knowI deserve better, after all (ooooh)
I'll never let another teardrop fall."
As she drove away she starts to smile, realized she hadn't for a while.
No destination, she drove for miles,
wondering why she stayed in such denial.
She was laughing about the way he shattered something else
(shattered something else)
To drag her suitcase down the path,to the driveway ,she had never gone that far (oh, no)
Normally this would be, the time that she would let him talk her out of leaving,
but this time, without crying,as she got into her car, she said,
No'Happily Never After'...
That just ain't for me(that just ain't for me)
Because finally,I know I deserve betterAfter all(that just ain't for me, yeah, yeah yeah, yeah)
I'll never let another teardrop fall.
"I'm done, I'm done, said I'm so done, I'm free, I'm free, so free.
Free to feel the way I feel, yeah.
She inhales a breath she'd never breathed before
Don't want no drama no more.'Cause she says " No'Happily Never After' (after)
That just ain't for me"
"I know I deserve, better after all I know I'll never let another teardrop fall"
