RANDOM notes on everything and nothing.

I think im weird, or for a better word, eccentric sometimes.

I woke up today, feeling kinda mundane and ordinary...then proceeded to pick up a bottle of red hair dye my cousin Tiff gave me sometime back, and started to color my hair.
HAHhaha, hows that for randomness? So I ended up with kinda an soft auburn colour, which I really love, and the boy loves too, says it kinda brightens up my face.

Pictures up soon !

Anyways. Ive been on a blog surfing marathon since my scheduled leave commenced and so here is a list of things that just gets on my proverbial tits.

- Blog music that is either verrrrrrrrrry mainstream and old.
Eg, clubbing music, Britney Spears, Pussycat Dolls, yadayada yawn.
(Like hello, pls display some personal choice? Top 40 billboard hits does not make for interesting
blog music)

- Clubbing pictures. Sexy pictures. clubbing pictures. Sexy poses. clubbing poses. Erm.
Hello, somebody needs to get a real life and some self-esteem cos I don't think life rotates around just this two, and it kinda makes your blog oh so predictable.

- Is it me, or does everyone wear the same thing in Singapore?
Im not saying you have to be like some glamazon, 24/7 tee & jeans combo is real boring, OTT baring of your decollege and rear does not equate to sensual, it just shows how insecure and BORING you really are. Not to mention it sends a skanky message too)

- Whats worst than point 2, is people who try tooooooo hard to appear fashionable. Brand names decorating your whole body or blindly trying on fads that does not suit you just makes you look foolish.
Recommends the links under my 'Jadore the Vougettes' list for help.

- People who ask stupid questions beget a stupid answer from your truly.

- People who have zilch creativity turn to steal ideas, pictures and blog content to embellish themselves more interesting so as to gain attention.
I quote Xiaxue: Whats the point of having a blog when you don't have your own thoughts and opinion?
Generate your own damn content, dopplegangers. That and well, learn to write better!

- People who keep saying that I am a shoppaholic when they themselves shop more! Hahah!
but honestly it kinda irritates me la... I mainly do thrifting and bargain hunting alot so in real fact I actually spend WAY LESSER than all you accusers HOR! :P

So did I hit a raw nerve on any of the above points? I don't mean too, just my honest 2 cents.

Aite, A looong flea market day calls tomorrow, so am off to bed.

Backdating Birthdays Part 1: Yin May's Simplistic B'day Dinner

Yes I've procrastinated yet again. Introducing Yin May's birthday from last year, or May as we call her is a IT analyst I've got to know from work. A really sweet and gentle person, she gave us a treat at one of her fave restaurants at Peninsular Plaza, Inle.

Check out more of its economical yet gastronomical range here:
http://www.inlemyanmar.com.sg/

The Birthday Girl :)

Lynes, her IT colleague also joins us

Appetiser!

Yin May tucks in to her fragrant soupy noodles...

I had the Myanmar culinary equivalent of Chicken Rice ...

Lynes preferred some thing more on the spicy side

Glorious prawn platter.

Desert got us asking for more!

Tastes even better when the b'day girl personally feeds you!

What is our verdict on dinner?

Kudos to a great meal! :D

We walked over to Marina Square to hang out a little while longer, when May chanced upon this huge stuffed banana @ Action City that emits a soft banana fragrance when you hug it. It was love at first sight, and Lynes and I naturally got it for the dear.

She loves it! :)

When she wasn't looking, I tried to be funny...

And got what I deserved. Stealing doesn't pay, folks.

I challenged May to a dance off at Para Para machine, and to my utmost surprise, she accepted it!

Lynes tries to teach her how to pay Drum Freaks with dismal results, lol.

We hope you enjoyed your birthday, May, cos we sure did! Love ya~

PS: I EFFING hate my phone. Can't seem to tilt the damn video upright. Sorry about that!

Backdating Birthdays Part 2: Tiba's Bollywood Birthday Bonanza

When Mena told me that she was gonna throw her sis, Tiba, a huge 21st birthday celebration, she didn't exaaaactly tell me how Richter-scale-colossal it was gonna be. The theme was be BOLLYWOOD Glamour, and the dress code was either to come in traditional Saris or punjabi garbs.

Mena spared no expenses in achieving our mission.
From decor to program planning, we scoured the streets of Arab and Aliwal Street to bustling roads of Little India and Chinatown. It was terribly exhausting, but fun.

Everybody chips in to help with the preparation

Mena here with Suba (one of Tiba's best friends)

The spread was mouth-watering. It had everything from Vegetarian, Indian, Chinese and International cuisines.

Did I mention they had a freaking DJ to SPIN THAT NITE???

Everybody, meet DJ Zack

Doing sound tests before the party starts...
PS: How cool is that, we even have special lighting effects!

The birthday girl looks radiant and thrilled!

Just look at how her outfit sparkles.....*aweeeeed*

June has magpie tendencies. SPARKLY~~

hahha...me here in all my royaaaaaaal purple glory.

Its not everyday you get to play emcee to one of the coolest soirees of the year

Did I mention that I wasn't the only one dressed for the occasion?
I am blessed to have a boyfriend who is game to try crazy things with me.
i heart justin!

Yes, i know...I shall shamelessly proclaim us as....

At around 6.30pm, the guests began to pour in...and the butterflies in my stomach started to flutter at the speed of light. like hello! I prolly have the worst case of stage fright in history, but for the sake of a friend, I shall prevail through!

A lil chaotic here...

Talk about glitz and glamour, its almost an understatement!

Somehow....this kinda reminds me about my prom!

The two sisters here with a guest...

Time for some family photos!

One of the guests (her name fails to come to my mind atm), did not come according to the dress code... so we fashion her one out of one of our props!

Not bad, i reckon it has a disco feel to it no?

" Saris' Angels '

I reckon Auntie was too taken aback by my outburst of enthusiasm...

Ebony & Ivory

Best friends for life :)

Hey Tiba baby, even though I got to know you through your sis, it has been great knowing you.
I truly had a blast emceeing for your party and erm....hope I didn't scare any of your guests away after the party lol.

Happy belated 21st birthday, may you always be as happy as you look in the pics :)

A recent incident has rubbed me off the wrong way lately, and hence I have come to a decision that soon for all pictures published in my blog, will be disabled for right-clicking.
Sorry if I come off kinda obnoxious about it, but I feel that I deserve the right for my pictures to remain exclusive, what with painstakingly editing and collag-ing all my pictures for close to 4 and a half hours straight. Call it my preserving my creative integrity if you will.

Sincere apologies to you for this post, but please don't take it the wrong way. I don't mean anything personal yea?

On a lighter note, today was splendid! :)
The boy and I gave each other some much needed TLC, given his long manning hours of late. It was a treat at Swensens, a brief trek through the nearly inaccessible Bugis Village, a solid hour of LAN gaming @ Parklane Mall, and ended with the us catching 'Bride Wars' @ the Cathay.

babydoll top(thrifted), denim leggings (ihearts.lj), lime wedges (The Box), boho bag (Outfitter girls)

Uncle feeding a huggee flock of pigeons...

which was funny and ironic @ the same time...cos he was right next to the sign 'No Feeding Birds'. LOL

We were owning thoses Zombies like no tomorrow!
The new game in town, 'Left 4 Dead' is my new obsession.
Will be reviewing its gameplay in a later post :)

Hhahaha. check out my nick: toosexytobeKILLED.

Boy is hard @ work taking out those undead.

Well hello there. :)

I got me some good finds from BV today... namely a black flutter-sleeves dress,

And a pair of black denim leggings (middle).

I think leggings are my current craze at the moment, considering they are more lightweight than denim skinnies, which is good if you are suffering from sensitive skin like me.

Quick review of Bride Wars

Not really the best chick flick I've watched so far, but it was enjoyable. Whats not to love?

With the talented Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson, both ladies have a undeniable chemistry that just makes a movie of 'used-to-be-best-friends' sparring over the same wedding date, such a hilarious hit. SABO at its best!
Some parts were pretty bland, but well-timed comical moments coupled with the truth that having your best friend by your side makes everything tolerable, even on your worst-est day; saved the movie from being cliched and forgettable.

That and well, i think it shed some light on the real state of things when girls become brides. We fight tooth and manicured nails for our BIG DAY alright. I kept telling Justin that he should watch and learn from the movie closely.

Suffice to say, he is duly traumatised at the moment. LOL
