I think I'm getting some control of my addiction now. Really damn bad withdrawal...I should get a medal for my endurance.
Believe me when I say I'm this close to exploding, I keep slapping my hands away from the damn spree link.

I hate being broke.

SOB.

Tell me how ANY GIRL IN HER SANE mind can resist these gorgeousity: http://yellowwhipcream.livejournal.com/30570.html#cutid1

So instead, I'm gonna vent my frustration on the keyboard and type till kingdom come about one fateful friday the 13th, where I had partied like I haven't in ages.

Friday Freedom Part I
: Aikky's Farewell Lunch

Being in Human Resources ,it can be such a bittersweet feeling sometimes. First person to see when start of work, and last person when leaving the company.

When I first met Aik Giap, (later dubbed fondly as Aikky by moi), he struck me as a funny and easy-going person, and we hit it off instantly. So you can imagine that we were pretty glum when we got the unhapy news.

Lunch was a brief but hilarious affair at Katong Mall, it being a place of memories for Aikky as he use to eat there during school days.

Lynes and Aikky (brothers united in lameness!)

Me and Aikky :P

Here we are trying to get a cab for dear life.

Chicken Rice Bonanza~

Lynes, can you be any more cheesy?!

The Manufacturing IT team !

Aikky, this is your farewell gift.
Hide well from your wife :P

Anyways....wishing you all the best! Its been a short time only, but you are one epic joke-ster that I will never forget. *wink wink chicken backside!* Remember to stay in touch!

and yes I'll still be calling you Aikky no matter what. Unless, your wife starts bradishing a cleaver and chasing after me, then well i guess thats that :P

Friday Freedom Part II: Horror movies and Star Wars Fetish

Despite the boyfriend's better judgment, he was still willing to watch Coming Soon with me. A guy who swallows his worst fear for the sake of his gf is a sign of true love!
THANK YOU HONEY :D

The theater next to us was showing Fanboys, a ass-funny comedy about a bunch of Star Wars fanboys out to fulfill their friend's dying wish. Being a Star Wars fan meself, I was beyond thrilled to see the movie characters in the flesh!

PEOPLE. MY LIFE STORY ON THE BIG SCREEN.
DEF MUST WATCH.

Drools.

Ahem... back to the movie:

Plot: Shane, a young projectionist, decides to join a mission to illegally record a newly released horror movie. He falls asleep during the screening and wakes up to find that Yod, his friend had already disappeared and left his camera behind. Suddenly, the horror movie that they were watching in the cinema begins to happen to them in real life, with unexplained deaths happening one after another. Could it be....

The beginning was seemingly cliched, but don't be fooled.
With an unexpected interesting twist as to the origins of the horror that belies ahead, Coming Soon is in its own league from the likes of its predecessors. It was well-paced with comedic moments followed quickly with a dash of pure terror. Best thing hands down? Its set in a cinema, which just sends chilling vibes of deja vu down your spine. Even a hardcore horror buff such as I, could not resist turning occasionally to my sides to see if my companions were, well human.

This goes down as one of the BEST horror movies I've watched so far, and earns 4/5 stars.

However for Justin, suffice to say....he is duly traumatized. :P

Friday Freedom Part III: GARY'S HOUSE PARTY OF MADNESS

After all the shit Ive been put through lately, I needed something massive to unwind and let my hair there. So when Gary popped the invite via facebook, I was all for it. It was held at his buddy Kieron's mondo condo, tucked somewhere in Katong.

Coolness. I nearly sprained my hip doing the Hula-hoop game on Wii.

Birthday boy and boyfriend look like brothers here. LOL
Cast your votes...

We found the source!

Texas Hold'em.

Who's redder? Xinyi's top or Birthday Boy's face?

Watch as the Boy happily helps to strip a friend he only just met. LOL

He kept yelling/screaming/begging ' WHERES THE LOVE,~~~~??!!"

ah well, at least you had nice boxers on. ;)

Gary's Anatomy!

AND into the water he goes! hows that for refreshing ;)

At the risk of sounding lascivious, here the sexy thang.

It was not long after he got his revenge; by giving all the culprits a big wet soaking hug!

oooh...must not forget our gracious host, Kieron!

Who is quite the camwhore as well, hehe

Alas, it was here that my bloody camera decided to die on me. #$%%^*

Wonderful company made this couch potato stay until an unearthly 3am, but it was worth the eyebags. I gambled my wealth away at Texas Holdem Poker, nearly tore a muscle from Wii Hula, drank like a barrel when I lost at 'Circle of Death' and 'Indian Poker', and danced the night away with the girls to the eclectic beats from Kieron's superb sound system.

Happy Birthday, Gary aka Bambi!

hehehe thanks for having me, and your friends were amazing. Tell Gabe to stop being a flirt! Wish I manage to video Kelly and Yi Loo make out, and next time we are so gonna get you dead drunk!

So, did you guys manage to guess the surprise?

Ok la, enough of the cloak and daggers..... I made my debut at COSPLAYING!

Guess I finally took my japanese anime/manga obsession to the next level.
About a month ago, thanks to the introduction of Yukata Warehouse by Bilin, I ordered a simple but kawaii shrine maiden (or rather, Miko) costume. For your info:

Miko (巫女 , lit. "Shrine Maiden") is a Japanese term that anciently meant "female shaman, shamaness; medium; prophet, priestess" who conveyed divine oracles, and currently means "shrine maiden; virgin consecrated to a deity" who serves at Shinto shrines.

The day couldn't be any more sweltering, and the boyfriend could not be anymore late.
But hell, the exposure my glorious costume garnered made it oh so worth it.
It was a heyday for camwhoring, and I think im half blind from camera flashes and mouth muscles are cramping from all that grinning :P

Here is dear Bilin and me! Did you know she HANDMADE the whole gown?! power.

Her alter ego below:

i wasn't exactly doing a specific character...

but was inspired by Kikyou from Inuyasha.

How did they fare from the reel characters below?

It wasn't just all jap anime and manga characters, below was the veteran from my current gaming love, Left 4 Dead!

I think he did the CG old man justice...

This was definitely the ULTIMATE, hands down. Behold:

How DOES he move???
Apparently he has a bunch of friends who disassemble his parts here and there so he can walk about.
I nearly died laughing watching him walk to the stage for group photos.

A lot smaller than the anime's version below ;)

Too paiseh to go up, but look how regal Bilin is!

Pikachu from Pokemon seems a lil depressed....

Well.... NOT that much anymore.
Pokemon porn anyone?

After a hard day's work, a frappe mocha hits the spot!

And since I'm on a temp high, here are pictures from the Anime Festival Asia (AFA) event last year that I never really got around posting up.

Justin and I never miss an event relating to Anime, considering that its the very thing that brought us together. :) The AFA was no exception of course!

It was not as fantastic as the previous few events we went, but it certainly had its highlights. It had a handful of cosplayers, amongst artworks by amateur and seasoned mangakas, and handmade figurine displays.

I think she is Seras Victoria from Hellsing

No idea who this is, but interesting outfit. And the eyebrows!

Gaara and Naruto from the anime, Naruto

The coolest Bleach cosplayer I've seen so far, Ichigo Kurosaki!

He had a real custom made katana (heavy!) which was identical to the anime!
I reckon it was taller than me -__-

Hitsugaya Toshirou, from Bleach

and of course not forgetting........

The irreplaceable KON!

I caught with the Exorcist-samas from D-gray man!

Array of stunning artworks ~
Some were created via traditional mediums like paint and charcoal, most were computer graphically designed. Beautiful.

Meticulously pieced figurines, and each one was intricately painted to perfect detail. One imagines the time and massive effort taken...

Cloud from Final Fantasy

Iron Man!

A Valkyrie, otherwise known as a warrior angel of sorts.

I still think I haven't taken quite enough pictures for both events, but then again a fangirl's work is never done. My thoughts? It sure took alooooot of preparation, from wayang-thick makeup, donning on the costume right, to even getting the part of your character down to pat.

I bet this post made little or no sense to the general sane public, but you've gotta admit that it is visually stunning.
Can't wait for the next one!
